Dr Riegert/Ultrasound and More!

The Lord has answered our prayers for a Medical Director. Sara Riegert, OB/GYN, of SSM Health has joined our Board of Directors. With her volunteer oversight we are making the changes necessary to transition to clinic status so we can begin providing free ultrasound to abortion vulnerable women. Dr. Riegert, Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology,

was educated at the University of Wisconsin Medical School. She brings a strong faith and years of experience caring for women and delivering babies. She comes highly recommended by several of our clients as a gentle and knowledgeable provider. Please cover her with your prayers.

Ultrasound Update: Maggie Wiesen, Executive Director continues to pursue acquiring the ultrasound equipment. She has submitted a grant application to the Knights of Columbus Council 4877 of Ripon for the ultrasound machine. They are confident that we will be approved and will soon commence fundraising efforts. Plumbing and cabinetry have been installed and necessary doors moved. Three rooms and a hallway have been repainted to facilitate a streamlined floor plan to ensure privacy to all who enter. We hope to showcase spaces soon, if not in person, then in a virtual tour. Look for details i n the coming weeks.

Calling for Volunteers

Recruiting and retaining quality volunteers is the backbone of Charis. We have a committed few and have added two new ones in recent weeks. One joins us in keeping the center clean and sanitary. 3000 square feet is a lot to keep sanitary, so now we have two ladies that alternate the cleaning duties. Another volunteer lends her expertise to maintaining our webpage and Facebook presence. She is key to helping us send you this email. A special thank you to Betty Boehrig for coordinating the Seroogy's candy sale this past Easter. We are currently in need of a Wednesday receptionist and an additional Client Advocate. We will of course train the right adult. Could it be you?

Donations: A benefactor donated a good quality used vacuum cleaner. Monetary gifts, albeit a little slower during the Spring, have been received. A memorial gift was received to honor Corrin Jaeger. Additional memorials were made in honor of Wilma Smedberg, a long time pro-life supporter. Please prayerfully consider making a tax deductible donation to Charis this month. All donations ensure that women in the Fond du Lac area can be supported with life affirming options. Your choice to contribute to Charis makes a difference to the next generation.

We cannot thank you enough for your prayers and support! An old proverb says '"f you want to go fast, go alone; if you want to go far, go together."  We go together with you. Your prayers, your volunteering and your gifts allow the ministry of Charis to go forward to the next level of service for our community.
